Now that schools are closed, you might need some ideas to help keep your kids busy while everyone’s stuck at home!

With schools, camps, daycares, and more closed across the country due to coronavirus concerns, families need to get used to a new dynamic as they’re stuck at home together. Adjusting to working from home can present a bit of a learning curve, but juggling that with keeping your kids educated and entertained all day long can be quite a challenge!

If you’re trying to figure out how to best adjust to your new situation, there are some great resources to keep your children busy in fun, educational ways. Here’s a quick list courtesy of CTV News and Naitre et Grandir:

Scholastic’s Learn at Home has been offering free learning resources for children who are unable to attend school, covering everything from pre-K to grade 9.

Khan Academy

A non-profit educational organization covering all major subjects, Khan Academy provides a host of free courses for kids and adults at all learning levels. Khan also offers daily schedules to help organize your child’s day!

National Geographic for Kids

Offering adventure games, quizzes, and educational videos, NatGeo for Kids is a solid resource for keeping your kids both educated and entertained.

Busy Toddler

Geared toward younger kids up to age 12, Busy Toddler provides ideas for tons of fun arts & crafts activities.

For content in French, check out La souris-web, which provides many online educational lessons, videos, and games for kids of all ages.

Radio-Canada’s online kid’s zone features several French-language educational videos, covering a range of topics that include biology, geology, and fun animal facts.

After a day of learning, most popular streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix offer a bevy of great kids’ content. Amazon Prime Video has recently begun offering free children’s programming, with Crave extending their 7-day free trial to an entire month until April 30th.

You also can’t go wrong with the old-fashioned route: board games! Take advantage of the time you now have with your family and get some dice rolling. It’s good to get away from screens every once in a while, and there are few better bonding experiences than getting lost in a great family game.
