When it comes to your gums, we have one goal: to remove plaque. Plaque is that whitish film that collects usually where the gums meet the teeth and consists of food, saliva and bacteria. The bacteria produces acid that leaks into the gums and can erode the bone that supports the teeth. This is called periodontal disease and it presents itself in the form of bleeding gums, mobile teeth, and sometimes pain.
At your first visit, we’ll perform a general gum assessment, discuss the condition of your gums and develop a plan to treat them if needed.
